Unfortunately, Dune is fiction, not a how-to manual. We don’t know how to make humans who are all-round just better at being human. Would be cool though. Open problem.

They have a clear disadvantage in times where growth is easy though. Individuals with more short term thinking waste less resources on survival and end up gaining dominance

Does evolution "change the reward function?" I mean it probably does but the primary "goal" is to increase the frequency of traits that make you live long enough to procreate and raise offspring, and decrease the frequency of those that don't.

I like the thread and don't disagree with anything but i think changing the reward function is probably a tertiary result of evolution.
