My first paid not-for-fun job was at age 16. I was still a student, but I needed the money. It was a remarkably useful life experience, and certainly a formative one.

Story time! I graduated from high school at age 15 and worked for a year before going to college. I primarily worked in construction and related hard physical labor. Pay was good compared to viable alternatives. I think I appreciated college more than anyone else my freshman year
