I have seen a lot of surprise/confusion as to why so many libertarians became reactionaries, but I think there is a consistent deep structure here 1/

IMO libertarians go NRx not because NRx are the only people who think about power and strategy, but because they're the only *recent* political theorists who don't cloak it in rhetoric that favors existing powers. Hobbes, Hamilton, Aristotle, Plato, etc. talk about all of this.

This is an excellent point. There is a kind of intellectual vibrancy that *currently* exists on the right wing, but there are great thinkers throughout history who have considered similar issues and are absolutely worth reading.
