Once a service gets SaaSified, it really should ride a decreasing costs curve with Moore’s law. In fact you should be beating Moore’s law for a while as you exploit unused potential from doublings since the design vintage of the pre-SaaS software
please explain? IME, SaaS is often expensive for a long time, esp. in enterprise contexts.

Yes. I’m saying it shouldn’t be and that’s a mark of either monopolistic/lock-in pricing power and/or ineffective saasification.
