I'm deeply confused by the worldwide drop in testosterone levels & sperm counts. It's a *huge* effect, too big to be explained by obesity. The most common explanation I see proposed is environmental contaminants. But I don't know if that's true, or which contaminants matter most.

The other thing I don't understand is how much psychology affects testosterone. Can stress, social phenomena, or other life events affect testosterone levels? I see occasional REALLY big correlational effect sizes for e.g. widowers having lower T.

It would be somewhat weird if this wasn't true given everything we hear about, e.g. primatology. Also, hormones like Testosterone are there to transmit signals. If they didn't rise and fall with information, what would be the point?

I'd *expect* it's a thing but I'm trying to amass facts before coming to definite conclusions, since I've seen examples of studies going lots of directions here.
