At the University of Tokyo, Japan's equivalent of Harvard, only 1 in 5 undergraduates are women. It is a byproduct of deep-seated gender inequality in Japan, where women are not expected to achieve as much as men and are subject to layers of stereotypes.

Writing, submission, and revising the paper completely overlapped with my life changing event. I would also appreciate to Nirao for understanding about managing of work and life. This work could not be published without any help with the lab members, collaborators, and family.

Our new paper is out in Cell! We showed that estrogen-dependent plastic change in a hypothalamic circuit controls the timing of female sexual behavior. I would appreciate to the wonderful colleagues contributed to this work.
