Also, the Lancet article that collected the official Spanish data seems to have reproduced the error https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanchi/article/PIIS2352-4642(21)00066-3/fulltext … "highest rate of deaths per 100 000 children was in Spain (0·64 for children aged 0–9 years; 0·53 for children aged 10–19 years)"

There are a bunch of related problems. A big upcoming one is the Y2K38 problem, aka what happens when the UNIX time_t 32-bit signed integer epoch overflows: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_2038_problem … (That 64-bit ints solve the problem in newer OSs; the problem is worst in elderly embedded OSs.)

Surely if this were a Y2K problem they wouldn't have anyone under 21 in the country. It's unlikely they are storing ages, seems more likely just a formatting / transformation issue.

Happened in Austria too, the 1st child death in 2020 was really someone over 100 years old. The 2nd child death, in 2021, was real though
