And I can switch to old menus again with --disable-new-menu-style, but is there a flag or some setting to make this permanent? I assume a shell script wrapper around the Chrome binary would get replaced with auto-updates, no?

Apparently this feature was rolled out way back in 2013 already for Windows users? Also on my MacBook I have the old context menus, but on my desktop I have the spaced out ones, despite exact same Chrome version.

People say killing apps on iOS ends up using more energy, but preventing your phone from lighting up 500 times a day to display push notifications when you're chatting on desktop sure has some fucking impact.

Ian's exploit is most definitely not just a PoC. It's just a hard-to-exploit bug, deal with it. And Electra may work well, but it's not even close to bulletproof, lol.

So 68 seems to replace context menus with weird home-brew ones that have way too much spacing and on which scrolling is broken. Is there a way to get OS-native context menus back?

I agree that they get a free pass they don't deserve, but you can't really claim they have filtering power over mobile internet users when a) they don't filter web browsing and b) users can side-load almost any app that gets rejected (if the dev feels like publishing it).

lol, so that path traversal on 's server was finally burned, huh? Kind of a shame, but the fact that he can't even be trusted to write PHP code should prove once and for all that Ismar doesn't have the faintest clue what he's doing. 🙃
