This shows you the issue isn't research, evidence, or facts. It's about ignorance of science, half baked conspiracy theories, and flawed understanding of how reality actually works. IMHO this constellation of things line up in different ways and weights for people left and right.

Crank magnetism isn't isolated to right-of-center politics, by any means, but it does thrive on isolation from understanding of basic principles like how and why diseases work, and how we came to understand.

I notice plenty of anti-vaccine sentiment on both sides of the political aisle.

This is true. The prevalence of antivax views is roughly the same on the right and left. However, in recent years antivaxers have been very successful aligning themselves with anti-regulation right wingers.
