Does anyone else find it odd that anti-vaxxers seem to be concerned with poor safety regulations and the influence of money in pharmaceuticals/government, yet they are frequently Trump supporters? Where are the anti-vaxxers that support socialized research and medicine?

This is, indeed, odd but had been my observation, also.

It is, however, very much consistent with ther Leitmotif: Aluminum and Mercury in vaccines lead to lower testosterone in males, homosexuality, transgender and, due to less masculinity, a weakening of America. Antivax is the new “master race”.

Interesting. They are not the type I come across on Twitter. How would you characterize their political leaning?

Aren’t you looking for logic and reason in an unlikely place?

I thought the free marketplace of ideas would ensure that login and reason would always win 🤷‍♂️

This shows you the issue isn't research, evidence, or facts. It's about ignorance of science, half baked conspiracy theories, and flawed understanding of how reality actually works. IMHO this constellation of things line up in different ways and weights for people left and right.

Crank magnetism isn't isolated to right-of-center politics, by any means, but it does thrive on isolation from understanding of basic principles like how and why diseases work, and how we came to understand.

I notice plenty of anti-vaccine sentiment on both sides of the political aisle.

This is true. The prevalence of antivax views is roughly the same on the right and left. However, in recent years antivaxers have been very successful aligning themselves with anti-regulation right wingers.
