It may surprise you to find out that those women are in a very very small minority, and when they want to be pursued they don’t say “leave me alone and stop pursuing me.” Also please don’t go anywhere near any women. It isn’t safe.

In addition, note the rhetorical change: we went from "reading someone's mind" to "I can't tell if her very clear statements were meant to cause me to ignore them." It does not require mind reading at all - merely respecting someone's decision to say no.

Is "I'm not comfortable with this" not clear enough for you or can your brain only comprehend one word sentences?

When is a new relationship ever not stepping out of a comfort zone?

This goes back to definitions. Some say whatever exists between every person is a relationship. I’ll infer that they did not consider themselves dating.

Pretty sure most people don't have to dissect the English language to figure out when someone else isn't into them, and those that do are being willfully obtuse.

Perhaps they understand multiple perspectives and definitions and have difficulty deciding which one to go with in inferring the unspoken in a situation. They should ask clarifying questions, but what if “Hey do you like me?”, etc is the step too far into sexual harassment?

Except if we're still talking about the example you posted, then it was 100% spoken and dude just decided to ignore it.

‘Let’s be friends.’ ‘Ok.’ ‘I’m sorry, I can’t just be friends, I love you.’ *sexual harassment charge filed*

I mean, if he had acknowledged his feelings were too strong to be friends and just walked away - then I very much doubt charges would have been filed. “Answer heard but not accepted” is pretty creepy at best.
