Boost in fee revenue from those users is hard to extrapolate, but generally it was 2-3x per user.

And yes, I shipped every single one of them from my house. It cost me over $4K in shipping costs and $1K in shipping supplies.

In 2019 sold 2,400+ card readers across all 50 states, generating over $58K in new profit that I didn’t have in 2018. This was made possible by launching Terminal, and making the SDK so dead simple I was able to implement it in a week on iOS and Android. 👏

I have a really hard time understanding why anyone would side with Trump on anything. He will use, stab them in the back and forget them. He is NOT their ride or die.

Pulled the trigger on a Sleep Number bed. And yes, it’s the one that you can recline in like an 80 year old. No regrets.

💯 that experience proved to me that working as an employee at a startup for equity is a sucker's game. I haven't been a startup employee since. No ragrets

This was in 2009-2011, to which I was later let go for voicing my displeasure. I stupidly hadn’t sold all of my shares, and walked away even more shorthanded.

The equity inequality between investors, founders, then employees is insane. I don’t think I’d ever make that mistake again. I’d most likely opt for no options and a higher salary.

    Rough math: 2,000 hr/yr * 2y * $150/hr = $600K vs. $100K salary * 2y + $232K exit = $432K

Long ago I had a conversation with regarding our regrets about taking equity vs. a consultant's wage at a startup. We were the first employees, and would have made way more with a 2Y of a consultant’s wage vs. the 100K shares we sold for $2.32 per share and our salary.

Tech twitter is dead ass debating on if it’s good idea to work 40+ hours a week rn. Toxic tech CEOs and investors are saying you won’t change the world like Gandhi or MLK unless you kill yourself for another ad tech startup you don’t own.
