Since Elder will be the vote leader among replacement candidates without a doubt, the recall vote represents a real head to head Newsom-Elder matchup. Dems choosing no candidate on the 2nd question was a very good move
Feels like this also explains the midterm dynamic (which is why midterms are dumb and should be abolished). People are much more likely to vote against an incumbent than vote *for* an opponent, which seems unhealthy.
When is a major political party finally gonna get smart and nominate "random party candidate" rather than specific ones? Don't they do political analysis and look at polls?
