          Judges have pointed to such threats of violence as a basis for pretrial detention. The pattern so far has been that even defendants who assaulted cops have been released, BUT those who’ve made threats have been detained. This is partly bc statute looks at risk of FUTURE danger.

          Ofc, committing violent acts in the recent past SHOULD reasonably be considered to be an indicator of a risk of FUTURE violent acts. But the judges in their infinite wisdom have chosen to ignore that logic.
