Hey @ryangrim - when will you acknowledge on Twitter and through an official retraction of your story that you got this story COMPLETELY wrong?
The VM was not left by Gil Cisneros & you've admitted as much through a quiet & sketchy update to your story instead.https://twitter.com/ryangrim/status/989571440537194497 …

So you admit here that your first story - which you promoted heavily- was inaccurate and falsely accused Gil of doing something that you had zero proof of?

Which you know because we include that in the story.

Gil Cisneros was the one forced to find an independent voice Authenticator to prove the negative. The Intercept did not take ANY steps to authenticate voicemail before launching false accusations.
-
I sent you the audio directly pre-publication. And Dayen approached Gil at an event, was told to email questions and promised answers. Instead campaign did not engage until after the story was up. Just not true that we took no steps.

While I have you, any comment on whether the DCCC is standing by its endorsement (in New York, not Nebraska) of a candidate who attended the 2016 March for Life and has boasted of her "pro-life advocacy."https://theintercept.com/2018/04/28/juanita-perez-williams-emilys-list-dccc-new-york-abortion-juanita-perez-williams/ …

I’m confused, Ryan. I thought you guys were supposed to do “investigative journalism”, not just air competing accusations and leave it at that?

lol you buried it in a massive update that you hoped no one would see, as you've done nothing to raise awareness about it. Also, your OWN forensic analyst says he doesnt think its Cisneros. What a fking joke.

translation: when our own expert says we came to the wrong conclusion, AGAIN, we were very angry and decided to leave it up because we still want it to be true, dammit
