We've had a similar issue here in #PA1, although the candidate here isn;t backed by the Dem party, but she's (@RachelReddick ) was a Reg R (for several years) until weeks befiore she announced her run for congress. Not the same exact fact pattern but seemed relevant.

She's been open about the evolution, though, right?

This is stupid. I'm a left-leaning moderate. If I ever ran for office, I'd identify as a Dem with no pref. My personal policy is to vote in primary races I think will have most impact in my area. If you look at me, my records would show me as a registered R in KY in 2016.
-
Your "scoop" amounts to reactionary partisan bullshit.
-
Not when U look at what Pacs R also backing candidate. Pacs give money 2 candidate 2 have a certain kind of congress. These Pacs R pro Wall Street/business & anti workers. When you put everything together U get a corporate dem at best. Ok on social issues gop on economic issues
-
This is a non-sequitur. We're not talking about PACs, we're talking about the fact that he voted in a closed primary in 2008. Trying to frame him as a GOP operative is dense, partisan, and tangential to everything substantial in the race he's participating.
-
Did U read the article, because it brings up the $ he is receiving from 2 pro business Pacs & a member of dccc (which is very pro business anti worker). Dccc this election year has recruited a few gop members 2 run against progressive Dems N primaries, which makes it a story.
-
From Dem-leaning PACs, yes. Sure, they're pro-business. As a left-leaning moderate, I'm pro business. It's a stupid, asinine story that does more harm than good. This isn't a comparison to a progressive candidate, it's a GOP-in-sheep's-clothing, no-true-Scotsman circus.
-
Sorry to inform you that "I'm pro-business" in 2018 means you're not a left-leaning moderate, Eric.

Enjoy your sportsballpolitik. Have a good day.

People change parties. What exactly is the big deal? If he's a wolf in sheep's clothing, his record will show it and he'll go the way of the dinosaurs.
-
Sure, but if he gets elected and then votes with the republicans (same as Doug Jones and Conor Lamb) it is another 2 years of trying to undo the damage. He needs to explain this up front.

It’s more correct to say he’s the “Maybe DCCC backed” candidate.

Here in NJ2, the
@dccc candidate has a 100% rating from the NRA, has a conservative record, and has participated in one out three candidate forums so far. He’s also blocking people on social media asking about his record.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
