Shouldn't the story have made clear what crime was being investigated? Was it not made clear because no one would find it controversial to investigate a child predator?

It was not clear at the time what the crime was and Facebook hadn't replied yet. Facebook now says it was about a child predator and that's entirely plausible given the email chain.
-
Is the story even a "story" now?

Why can't people write their own headlines?

Why don't the engineers just talk directly to the customers?pic.twitter.com/1XsSzoLN8U

No, I’m curious about this question too: why is it that someone who can write a whole researched story can’t also write a headline? I’m not piling on Ryan here: it seems pretty common for heds to be written by editors who may not even read the piece. It seems... unwise

Did we ever find out why ICE was investigating a crime totally unrelated to immigration?
-
good thread. the short answer is ICE (via HSI) has broad legal authority over cross-border crime https://www.ice.gov/hsi (seems weird this is part of ICE and not a separate branch of DHS)

Yeah, I never knew before tbh

Is this an orgy of humiliation?
