If you really wanna drain the swamp, just leave Mueller in place indefinitely. He’s starting to pull on the strings that could unravel the whole thing. He’s looking at oil money, real estate, big investment funds and political contributions? Hoo boy.

I really have very big doubts that Mueller would stop once he convicts Trump or gets him out of the White House, or that this investigation is ending anywhere before 2020 or 2021. It seems as if the pressing issue of Trump is but phase one of a much longer and broader probe.

2021? Oh honey. Strands of this investigation are going to continue for up to a decade. FBI just arrested a CIA officer spying for China they’ve had under surveillance since 2010.

Hey I like to be conservative about what I say in public, so yeah I think 2020-2021 might be reasonable for the Special Counsel to remain operative. Also, Mueller is kind of insanely efficient. Not to say the effects of this won't last decades into the future.

There’s a pretty good chance we get an updated Espionage Act out of this “but collusion isn’t a crime!” loophole, too. This will reverberate for decades. In many ways.

We need to change many of the current laws to catch up with cyber warfare, nepotism, campaign financing, donors, etc. I feel like we are in the dark ages.

The existing laws can probably do enough to deal with what is currently going on. A far better question to ask is why laws like the Foreign Agents Registration Act were so loosely applied and enforced to such great detriment to American political discourse in the recent past.

Meanwhile, Rs have been undermining Obamacare, dismantling the CFPB, and chipping away at Dodd-Frank, while the SEC has been captured and refuses to enforce shit. There is indeed a swamp that needs draining, and there's only one way to do it: elect Democrats.

Didn't he used to be the FBI Director? For like the second term ever? I do think he's doing a good job here, but some of this is cleaning up stuff he didn't pursue while he had the chance, including Felix Sater.

I love the idea. If Mueller and team had open oversight forever, we would definitely drain the swamp. I don't care if they are Republicans or Democrats, our legislators need to be held to higher standards. Too much corruption. We need honest leaders representing the people.
