Almost every town/city/community in the western hemisphere is a "former manufacturing hub struggling for decades" which for the foreseeable future shows no turnaround I don't understand how this election bodes well and for who.

Not even close. A "hub" had major industry like an Army tank engine plant, huge brake linings mfgr. and still makes helicopters. I'd say 98% of communities in New England were never a hub.
