It's funny how people think if you're just born in the midwest you're the same as anyone else born in the midwest. Also, I reckon most people don't remember who they voted for in '84, especially if it was Mondale. Like it or not, most people don't pay that much attn.

You didn't mention it, but she, like most voters who were alive, can't remember McGovern was the Dem in 72. Oddly enough, my mom, who voted for him, couldn't remember who ran against Nixon in 72, a few weeks ago and I had to remind her.
