A vague website that just keeps saying"affordable" run by Ex-Dem politicians? Looks like the same thing we have now.

That is not entirely fair.
@USofCare is run by#GOP too, including Bill Frist and Bush administration alumni.https://twitter.com/gremlinbroom/status/961015447008305152 … -
Plus all those healthcare executives. I doubt they're all Democrats.
-
Dems? Republicans? Healthcare? They're all privatizers. http://www.pnhp.org/news/2016/march/cms%E2%80%99s-slavitt-calls-for-%E2%80%98retailization%E2%80%99-of-health-care …

Ugh.
#healthcareoverpolitics is pushing “A retail strategy” to healthcare!?!
How many times does that approach need to fail until they get it? #MedicareForAllpic.twitter.com/sm0orQH9Zz

Whether single-payer or not, there needs to be more focus on
#patientexperience. Obviously#SinglePayer would take away the pain point of hospital billing. -
#Singlepayer would also take away the profit motive. - 3 more replies

Reminds me of
@PPFA. It continues to oppose#singlepayer.pic.twitter.com/jPqPdrWO0W

Recall that in 2016,
@BernieSanders got raked by@TheDemocrats for calling@PPFA and@HRC "the Establishment?' Planned Parenthood opposes#singlepayer. Human Rights Campaign endorsed a candidate who STILL argues how great DOMA and DADT were. - 1 more reply

I know my state of CA looked into single-payer statewide but the cost was staggering. Not sure why.
-
The cost under the current healthcare system in CA would be $400 billion, but under a system with negotiated rates and price controls, it would fall to $370B. We're already spending $330B on healthcare in the state. We just need to pool that money and come up with a little more.

At some point, someone has to explain to me what the congressional strategy is to pass a Single Payer bill.
-
How does anything get passed? You elect enough people who support the idea. I think we all know it's not going to happen next year even with a Dem Congress but it will happen the term after that.
-
So, are you willing to Donate to, Make Calls and Volunteer for a Democrat in the General Election, even if they're not as progressive as you'd want them to be on healthcare?
-
I've already done that in previous cycles and will continue to do that. I'll push them to be more progressive the entire fucking time though. I'm probably older than you are so you don't need to lecture me.
-
Cheers to you. Lots of hard left folks I've asked this to, pick up their toys and go home after they lose a primary.
-
Yeah, I know. Sorry to be so gruff about it but we're not monolithic and I can't answer for all the people who don't have their eye on the long game. Cheers to you too.

-
Yeah. No worries. My gripe is with the all-or-nothing folks. There's no reason why these things can't run on parallel tracks. The political opposition to Guaranteed Universal Healthcare is based on Cost and Conservative Ideology.
-
Trump destroyed the Conservative Ideological argument in the primaries, by basically running on a form of Universal Healthcare mostly paid for by the Government. If you can fix the underlying structural problems in the system, you can drop the price, nullifying the cost argument
