Stunning lack of acknowledgement of PR Government's complicity in the debt crisis. The article also conflates the debt with post hurricane aid. For what reason, I don't know.

No State has a fiat currency either, but if you're going to issue debt with no foreseeable way to pay it, that's irresponsible. And stop the dramatics. (Starvation? Really?) They made their own bed, and they should to terms with their creditors.

I'm sure you enjoyed your triple tax-exempt bonds when you bought them, sir, but maybe you should have checked the risk profile then

I bailed on them awhile ago, but nevertheless, they need to honor their debt as best they can. I suggested this over two years ago. Too late now:https://www.flomartin.com/single-post/2015/07/14/A-Proposal-To-Rescue-Puerto-Rico …

How'd those "minor tweaks" at PREPA go?

Sir, if they did as I suggested two years ago, they would have been better prepared for the hurricane. Snark won't replace common sense, or placate victim hood.

There's the "Left," and there's the "Looney Left." Not advocating for debt cancellation is hardly evil. But both sides of the spectrum lapse into a certain kind of intellectual immaturity on one issue or another.
