Stop calling Medicare, Medicaid, & social security “entitlements”. We’re paying for that shit now so we can get it later. They’re what you call “earned benefits”.

I get the point. But unlike Social Security and Medicare, Medicaid isn't an earned benefit. It's purely needs-based.
They earned it through political struggle and organizing, and as a result are entitled to it. Didn’t come from nowhere. Wish the left would embrace the term.

It's never bothered me for Social Security & Medicare. You work, you pay your taxes, you're entitled to your benefits - what FDR intended. But I think 'entitled' has a pejorative ring these days.

It does, sadly. Though most Medicaid folks are only on for short periods, and spend the rest of their time paying in.
