@ryangrim IMO Iraq is already broke. The only way to hold the nation together is a federation of three semi-autonomous regions.

@ryangrim I've heard from Sunni leaders in Anbar that they will join fight against ISIS in return for limited autonomy & same from the Kurds -
@biljon5 would those sunnis wanna do interviews? -
@ryangrim Possibly, they're having discussions w/ DOS right now & want new government in Baghdad offer something in return. That's the rub. -
@ryangrim Ali Hatem, head of the Dulaim Tribe, would be the most likely to do interview. He's in Irbil dodging arrest warrant from Baghdad -
@ryangrim Hatem wants autonomy & removal of Iraqi army & Shia militias from Anbar & guarantees that US would attack ISIS & not other Sunnis -
@ryangrim My read is that he can deliver the other 25 major tribes in Anbar & that they want rid of the Daas - their name for ISIS -
@ryangrim There are delicate negotiation going on w/ DOS, Hatem, Kurdish leaders & the new Iraqi gov. Gotta be careful here.

@ryangrim@PoliticaILine As a Scot, my question would be: why are so many so glib about letting UK break up? http://invisiblevisibleman.blogspot.com/2014/08/a-close-pass-misguided-campaign-and-why.html …Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
