For the media, *only* the right can be aggrieved. It’s simply not conceivable that anything the right advocates for could aggrieve the left or center and cost them politically. Even, in 2019, opposing marriage equality!

Warren has said she was always in favor of gay marriage. When did Bernie change his support for Soviet and Cuban style Communism? He expressed great admiration for these oppressive regimes in the 1980s, when even schoolchildren like me knew better at the time.

It’s not a winner/loser issue for either side. It’s a waste of messaging opportunity and a distraction, Ryan. Democrats are eternally distracted from core economic issues. Instead, it’s a stream of high-profile/low-impact-issue debates; issues that, btw, they all agree on!
