Some of these "race first" people are really invested in making sure no policy even *accidentally* benefits any white people, no matter their economic status, and I don't know what to say except for that it's inhumane and a sure way to alienate a natural coalition.

Institutions such as penal labor and lynch law didnt fully manifest until the early 20th cent. but they all had their seeds planted immediately following the end of the CW. Black codes were a product of the late 1960s, as were vagrancy laws.

That’s the point the concession of the north and the power of the south was a result of smashing a biracial coalition that was too small. Hence why we need to have a coalition of all working poor and all working class people of all races and we would have massive power
