Hi @ryangrim, I'm the "above person" you're referring to here. I'm also a rape victim &, yes, I have criticisms re: how you chose to report this story
It matters 2 me how sexual assault is discussed in the media
I'm getting the impression that it doesn't matter to u much at allhttps://twitter.com/ryangrim/status/1041871611664715783 …

Yes, I took issue w/ how you wrote your 1st piece. I took issue w/ the fact that your buried the sexual assault lede & highlighted Feinstein's secrecy. As a sexual assault survivor, and as a sentient person, I have theories about what you were up to here:https://twitter.com/magi_jay/status/1039994551514136577 …

Mangy Jay @magi_jayWe don't learn that the letter may describe info re: potential misconduct until the *4th* paragraph. But before that we get to hear all about Feinstein refusing to share the letter!, her taking a "back seat" on the judiciary committee, tensions between Dems!, etc. pic.twitter.com/IFq3jYb4voShow this thread2 replies 21 retweets 72 likesShow this thread -
Like I said, I have my theories. But journalism is a tricky process. It's seriously difficult, I am sure, to know what to highlight in a piece. . . If you think my criticisms are unjust: defend your journalism.

As I noted in the original story, different sources told me different versions of the allegations. W/o speaking to her, it’d be wrong imo to lay them out. What I did know for sure, and what was of public concern, was the disagreement among senators about what to do w/the letter.
