This is truly outstanding. It's good to know that the "accurate" representation of a politician is the one you guys determine. And if people have a different impression, it is the fault of local media. Not, say, that you - national reporters -- are perhaps wrong. Good to know.

What exactly in Carper's record that we've reported is inaccurate, Neera? His co-authoring of the bankruptcy bill, his boasting of the largest prison expansion in Delaware history, or his vote to make English the official language of the U.S.?

Or is his dragooning in of federal pre-emption of state consumer protection laws in Dodd-Frank inaccurate? Or is his leading role in welfare reform inaccurate? What's inaccurate?

I could keep going but it would be perhaps more useful if you could name the inaccurate claim.

I would add that it's deeply contemptuous of Delaware voters to presume they care about none of this because one time they saw Carper buying eggs at the supermarket.

Well, there was a vote yesterday. Saying that the majority was wrong or off....what is the word for that view of those voters?

I'm not saying anything was wrong and you're evading the question. What was inaccurate in the reporting of Tom Carper's record?

I can't imagine you're being willfully obtuse. My point is not about your reporting, but your assumption the priorities of voters matched your own. And your attacking a local reporter who made the point that Carper has been involved in Delaware communities for a long time.

1 We made that exact point in every story 2 He’s not a reporter, he works in govt and is a former local reporter. 3 Like I just said above, if people are informed and prefer Carper, great! But almost zero people know he voted for Kavanaugh, for instance. Press doesn’t cover that.

How did you come to the number "almost zero." And what are the criteria that constitutes an officially Informed voter.

There was polling done on that question. It’s knowable.
