This is the problem, a local media so cowed by perception of the bank/pharma/chem dominance that they spent 40 years failing to report on the real-world implications of their political leadership.

It’s not controversial at all, it’s the lived experience of the most populated county in DE. Ever since the state leg cut funding for WHYY, there has been no statewide TV news service for a state just 90 miles long. Only Kent & Sussex have commercial TV news, WMDT & WBOC/WRDE
-
It’s being treated as controversial. But yeah, it’s just a fact.

DE info ecosystem kills progress. Every institution, business & family suffers bc of it. DE part of BrownvBoard, all deliberate speed took 25 yrs; now NCC schools r resegregated. DE ability to address problems is chloroformed by regional animus exacerbated by no statewide tvnews
-
And so DE voters go to the polls without a ton of info. That’s not an attack on voters. It’s the situation progressives need to organize within. But nobody should take from the election that voters prefer somebody with Carper’s voting record. They don’t know his record.
-
Agreed. But many in DE do know his record, they make compromises in life & vote accordingly. They’ve seen Chrysler & GM plants close & DuPont shrink to a shadow of its former self Many may not know what they dont know, but NCC news desert is now the norm & NJ will cut more staff
