W/ respect, the idea that demographic turnout can be divorced from policy is so mistaken. People don’t vote for a same-identity candidate “no matter what.”

As someone who worked in a movement from 2003-2008 which was subverted by plutocracy, I'm quite sensitive to this happening again. It's a different moment.
