are there any editors or op-ed writers at politico who represent a sanders/ocasio left perspective?

He also ran in ‘88. If your headline is gonna be about people not knowing what they’re talking about you should at least...ah, never mind...pic.twitter.com/VdV2WaNveX

1984 was when Hart was being described as neoliberal, though he shied away from the label https://www.nytimes.com/1984/05/15/us/as-neoliberals-search-for-closest-fit-hart-is-often-mentioned.html … Not much "neoliberal" chatter in 1988

New York Times, 1988 + 1989 There was also Jesse Jackson's entire 1988 campaign which was a major critique of corporate centrists -- weak on both civil rights and economic justice.pic.twitter.com/uI9q8nRKHv

That neolib Dukakis ran on universal health insurance and cutting military spending

Wha? Dukakis ran on the success of the “Massachusetts Miracle,” a proudly and explicitly neoliberal project.

Oh please. The "Miracle" was aggressive government to attract high-tech companies to the state and replace lost manufacturing. I also learned from CTH the New Deal and Great Society were neoliberal too, because any government that leaves capitalism in place is neoliberal.

If you’re claiming that what you just described — government subsidies for high-tech business — is not a central part of neoliberalism then I don’t know what to tell you. Neoliberalism is both a slur and a real thing. I’m talking about the thing.

This is the Chapo definition of neoliberalism. It would not cover the Massachusetts Miracle.pic.twitter.com/qTDxiwX6nd

Replying to @billscher @ryangrim and
Bill- I think “interfere” in that sentence means “curb.” I doubt chapo says crony capitalism doesn’t exist in that book

Right, you’re misreading it. That’s a reference to the deregulatory element of neoliberalism. If you don’t think government support for the high tech sector isn’t part of neoliberalism we’re just wasting time here

Replying to @ryangrim @MrJasonCoates and
Use the label you like as long as you’re consistent (I grant you are). But how does the Miracle bolster the claim neoliberalism wrecked the middleclass? MA’s hightech pivot was/is a success. Poverty rate is 1 of the lowest & it makes the robots to power Chapo’s workless dreams
