What are congressional salaries right now?
-
Depends, but generally for an entry level staffer it is around $30,000. For context, a one bedroom apartment in DC can easily cost $1,800/month.

I guess that's one way to ensure that the majority of those jobs go to the children of the wealthy and powerful, which only serves to further consolidate influence in a smaller and smaller clique.
