Guess who is suddenly comfortable with politicians banning the press from events? I’ll give you a hint: he’s very reliable.pic.twitter.com/RwbtJPBcMX

But in the "thinking this through" tweet, @Ocasio2018 says a "private" event is "open to all". Maybe "refreshing," but also seems to be a huge blind spot, no?https://twitter.com/Ocasio2018/status/1031206377048494080 …
The interesting question at play: how can non-rich constituents get the same kind of access to their representative as rich ones have in our current system? I don’t know the answer to that but this is an attempt to get at it.
This answer is a complete non-sequitur. How does banning the press or making something quasi-private have anything to do with access (besides actually limiting it)? You’re just saying words and hoping people don’t take 5 seconds to think it through.
Does a constituent have better access to a politician in a private meeting without press or a public meeting with press? That type of access is typically purchased. Is there are way to make it more widely available?
Yes. Politicians could just do it. Nothing is preventing it other than human nature. Politicians want the money. Any politicians that pretends not to understand this is being disingenuous.
@Ocasio2018 should just schedule private meetings with non-donors day and night. Trump, Obama, Clinton, Romney did private donor meetings all the time. So Ocasio, if she wishes to "find a new way," should do the same with non-donors.
Judging from her almost daily gaffes over the past several weeks, I don't consider "Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez" and "thinking" to be mutually inclusive terms.
Quite a low bar you’ve applied there. A congressional candidate is to be praised for ... thinking.
I guess that makes it all okay then. Maybe she shouldn't have banned them in the first place.
Thinking it through? Refreshing? Should have been able to realize that this would be a huge mistake in the first place. There should be a minimum IQ eligibility requirement for potential members of Congress. And Boston U should lose its accreditation for graduating this MORON.
Wow, a Socialist is thinking something through? That really is refreshing! Probably an exercise in futility, though.
She is a "progressive". Give her some slack. Anybody else- NO WAY!
Thinking it through after the fact doesn't speak well for her thinking abilities.
