And here’s another new article about a working class woman taking a salary from her campaign while running for Congress. It’s legal & if you’re not rich, there’s no other way to do it. Once there are more working class candidates, this’ll no longer be newshttps://lancasteronline.com/news/politics/jess-king-is-the-only-pennsylvania-candidate-for-congress-drawing/article_86c5de3c-8b96-11e8-bc8f-3f9a023379f9.html …

I worked all year & raised $1 million with no PAC money (avg donation= $23).
@IronStache refuses to disclose how much he's getting paid as a "political consultant." He isn't getting paid by his campaign, his campaign just pays his personal debts directly.https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/politics/2018/07/16/questions-raised-check-sent-randy-bryces-ex-girlfriend/777057002/ …Thanks. So true. I ran in a five-month special while working full time, used up all my vacation time, slept about four hours a night, and had nowhere the focus required to run a serious campaign. I hope we see many good candidates draw fair salaries from donations.

Class/$$$ is part of the problem - but so is the insane length of American election cycles. In other countries you take a month to campaign, not a year.

And thanks to a recent FEC advisory opinion, candidates now can use campaign funds to pay for childcare expenses incurred as a result of one's candidacy.

Or you have someone (parent, spouse, etc) supporting you financially. There's a kid running for local office here who's in community college, I expect his parents are supporting him. The bigger the office the less feasible that is, though.

After Ed Fallon drew a salary from his 2006
#IAGov campaign and later challenged a Democratic incumbent in 2008#IA03 primary, vindictive#Iowa lawmakers changed state law to ban the practice.https://www.bleedingheartland.com/2009/03/21/iowa-legislature-pretends-to-care-about-money-in-politics/ … -
Wait, so you're arguing it's ok to profit from your campaign? Because that's exactly the opposite of what you've argued for Trump.
