I support it. Actually I would prefer it. This was she can fully focus on her campaign. She has a family to support and is a working/middle class PA woman. IMO, she is exactly who is needed in government.

It was a challenge for me to come up with a work/life balance for campaigning. I'm the sole source of income for my household at the moment. It's hard to run for federal office while a middle class mom.

I'm a helluva lot more concerned by Congress being comprised of around 80% rich, white, males, than I am about a candidate who makes a decent wage while running for office. If Jess' salary is a problem, what about all the millionaires voting to protect their wealth?

I’d much rather have this than a millionaire or billionaire running.

100%. Ideally, would prefer public financing of all campaigns if possible.

The only thing is ideally it would be coming out of public election funding rather than private donations, but first things first. And I hope the same paper is checking whether the incumbent has a PAC and how he may be using PAC funds.
-
Incumbent (Smucker) has large funds from PAC. It was reported in our local paper a couple of weeks ago. He is funded by big money. He has never held an in-person town hall in Lancaster, PA, where he has a district office.

So it's better in some people's opinion to take from CCA (prison for profit) like Cuomo, Rubio, Debbie Schultz? I'll take a Ms Jess King any day.

She is so brilliant to do this and now, I’m going to look into this for my campaign.

Honestly, isn’t this just Patreon writ large? “I’m doing this thing that is cool but it takes time and money and I can’t do it if I have to spend all my time working for salary, and if you like what I’m doing and want me to keep doing it, here is a donate button.”

This has to backfire. How do you hand your opponent an opportunity to humble themselves in an utterly relatable way?

I wish women would run on being women, the experiences of women.

I wish people would run on integrity not what's between their legs. Insane thinking

Her opponent's employers are the massive corporations donating to his campaign so he doesn't have to ever draw a salary

Unfortunately, she has pretty much NO chance of winning. What gets me is the number of staffers for such an uncompetitive race.

Dems are making headway here.
