I had a grad school prof who would haul a massive stack of books—20? 25?—to class every meeting—He'd arrange them on the desk & strategically pick them up and wave them at us if they came up in the lecture—He never opened them or read from them—they were purely waving books
wow, y'all liked this random post! I'd add that this prof lectured 3 hours straight every week, only asking us a question once & then answering himself 10 seconds later b/c we were too shocked to answer—so he wasn't my pedagogical paragon—though not because of the waving books
