14-year-old girl raped outside a shopping center in Burnley, UK. Culprit still on the loose. Sky News says he's a man with a beard and a "tanned complexion". Is this a new politically correct term or are we talking about someone who recently returned from holiday?

Policies on the treatment of animals should be led by the scientific evidence, which makes clear that non-stun slaughter is inhumane. This legislation in Belgium is largely welcome. The UK government should take note

It is absolutely outrageous that parents think they have the right to perpetrate serious assault, just because the victim happens to be their offspring. Legislators must recognise this and make such assaults illegal and religious/traditional/cultural objections should be ignored.

Astonishing that so many people choose to turn a blind eye to this form of genital cutting, apparently accepting that a religious/cultural ritual is more important that the actual human rights of vulnerable newborns.

Why shouldn’t they pay? Infact, the fees are too little. We are offering a lifetime of free education, healthcare, benefits if needed, so much more than their own govts give them. Why should they be subsidised for confirming status/entitlement for the life they dream of?
