Very sad to see this. Walgreens has closed 17 locations in the past five years and many elderly and disabled people are having a hard time getting their medicines.

Perhaps having national monopolies for pharmaceuticals is a bad idea.

Socialism is bad. A nation seizing an industry and having monopolistic control over it is evil. It's especially more evil/bad when that nation is in charge of distributing goods/rations, i.e. communism.

That’s not what communism is. And how is nationalizing an industry “evil”? Do you think the US postal service is evil?

"Perhaps having national monopolies for pharmaceuticals is a bad idea." - You USPS isn't 'an industry'. It's part of 1. Other courier services exist, aside from UPS, DHS, or FedEx. It's the only one that is federalized and still requires you to pay postage, while being in debt.

USPS is in debt because it's the only "industry" that is mandated to pay future pensions 70 yrs out. Otherwise, they'd be profitable AND still serving every American household every day. Socialism with a profit....Boo! Scary!

so socialism works as long as those in charge don't promise themselves a life of wealth?
