Unpopular opinion I suspect, but 3D touch is one of the worst usability mistakes Apple ever made (IMHO). Difficult gesture that in places like the home screen conflicts with other gestures. I shouldn't have to be the Lionel Messi of fingers to rearrange my icons 😂https://twitter.com/OhMDee/status/1132093087654842369 …

Will the Haptic Touch really fix the problem ? I'm not sure. Long presses, short presses, press and drag, etc. those are all putting pressure on our behavioral memory anyways.

agreed, even the swipe up from the very bottom or half way thing is annoying.

I am not so sure that this is really an "unpopular" opinion. Most people out there don't have an opinion on that because they have no clue that 3D touch is even a thing. So in this regard they agree with you 100%

Oh man I love the uselessness of pressing and revealing menus I never use and the satisfying feedback that accompanies it.

Usability? No. Discoverability, yes. It’s a very useful feature that’s totally un-findable. I’ll miss peek/pop on the web, in Notification Center, and in mail but that’s really it.

This weird "need" to "re-invent" everything... Long touch was fine since the beginning of time. I still remember the funny comments from fans when 3D was released: "It will change the way we interact with devices..."

Same thing happend with the "touch bar".. let's see how much life that has until the physical buttons are back where they belong... 😂

I still love 3d touching things but except the camera button and the keyboard pointer that’s not really gone anyway, won’t miss it.

You can turn it off in accessibility settings and for the most part many things start watching for long-press instead, XR style.

And even without 3D Touch rearrangement of icons on iOS is a joke, terrible implementation, move one and they all shift around in unintended and unwanted ways, hope they fix that, but I guess apple is not in the business of making things better
