Turns out they've decided they can leverage network dominance into protocol control, and the spec process isn't "real". Mea culpa: I have spent far too much time on the spec process, and not enough on implementation polishing and marketing. That changes today.
Lightning Labs has claimed ownership of the Lightning network in many ways: I've been reluctant to call them out in public. But the lightning network and community deserves better. They didn't implement it first, they didn't implement it best. Their community is great though!

If I had a chance to start all over again, I'd pick c-lightning - just for the plugins. The pre-existing large channels are community lock-in moat for the Lightning Labs, as it's not possible to move channels. I know a few teams running large wallet nodes who feel the same.
Don't get vendor locked in. It's still early enough. Sure channels are expensive to rebuild but it might be worthwhile

hrmm. This seems wildly problematic at first glance. Can you provide more details to how they have "claimed" ownership? It sounds (from comments) the primary concern is dominance over channel liquidity? Is this accurate, or not? More information would be very much welcomed
