don't you need C ABI too? Otherwise you are relying on the unstable Rust ABI

that's still the Rust ABI, which isn't compatible with the "WASM ABI" which is the C ABI

unless parcel uses a modified compiler that deals with the fact that the Rust ABI is unstable and "pseudo stabilizes" it. However then they would get rid of the #[no_mangle] too

The wasm target works without requiring an explicit extern “C” declaration if you’re not using the C types and just primitives (integers, pointers...). Go check some examples. Parcel doesn’t need to do anything special here in the above example.

It should do something special, or it will fail badly whenever Rust adds some new optimisations in upgrade. Currently these examples rely on undefined implementation details.

But I disagree, I don’t think Parcel should have to do anything special. Anything required to be done explicitly ought to be done in Rust. I’m not arguing whether it’s correct, best practice or future proof leaving out extern “C”, only that it isn’t required to added by Parcel.

Oh, nobody is saying that Parcel should do this automagically, only that examples from screenshot etc. are incorrect/misleading to potential users.
