I have searched so much and the only language available to have more than 1M websockets open without world destruction (?) is with Go.
Agreed, It'd be a headache to do that in C/C++... Elixir seems to be really promising in this area as well, but Go still has the leg ahead.

Ideally very well, given that performance is a focus for us! The “Tokio” ecosystem is what you’d be looking at in Rust; it’s undergoing some simplification at the moment!
