Is it just me, or does the ampersand usage in @rustlang have more than one meaning? Is it borrowing … AND pointers?

borrowing is a property of pointers. Specifically, &T is a reference, which is a pointer with borrowing semantics

Ah, the pages on ownership/borrowing/lifetimes made it sound like pointers were all internal. That makes sense, tho. Thanks!

no worries! Also, some things are "double pointers," like slices and &str. Still borrowed.
