Thanks thats good to know :) I guess even if they are removed, you still pay a price for the array index offsetting, which add up quickly in a raytracer (unless those are optimized out? but I doubt it)
Since in this case they're statically sized arrays with static indices, I'd actually expect the machine instructions to be identical - the offsets can be computed at compile-time, just like with a struct.
