At one point I was writing a fairly large application in python/django and needed a userspace client. I did research between Go and Rust and while people claim they're not competitors...I don't see how they aren't. I went with Rust (But then I abandoned the project)

They are competitors as low-level than Java or
@nodejs,but it's said they aren't because@golang is focused on coroutines and has a garbage collector like Java or Javascript,while@rustlang is (being) focused on low-level systems programming and use reference counting like Python1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes
Most rust programs don’t even use reference counting!
