had my first "spend hours writing a heap of rust code, finally compiles, and omg what it works!?". here's a simulation of pixel positions from a tetrahedron shape, yay!pic.twitter.com/TaCRaXstct

had a long battle with the rust borrow checker, ended up on top! 😅 then moved on to the puzzle of how to implement a shape walker. 🌈pic.twitter.com/hQ3pxSyYXk

bought some aluminum led strip channels, made a 3d model of the tetrahedron connectors, with 3 led strip channels per edge so the edges will be lit from all angles (for example, seeing the other side of the shape _through_ the shape)! 📐🚥🔆🌈 https://github.com/ahdinosaur/chandeledra/blob/master/edge-connectors/tetrahedron-edge-connector.stl …pic.twitter.com/xPjmetK1kO

.@whimful helps me with tetrahedron angles math, my previous edge connector was so wrong. 📐 so fixed it, then re-structured it to fit wires inside and round the back!pic.twitter.com/6AL5YeqBvE

today got all the edges setup and powered! for context: there's 0.5 meters per channel, 60 pixels per meter, 3 channels per edge, 6 edges in a tetrahedron. ☀️pic.twitter.com/6xBuVgM41Q

That looks great! I'm curious, is there any article/paper explaining why you would see 10x performance increase due to `--release` flag?

Rust as a language is designed under the assumption that certain kinds of abstractions are easy for a compiler to optimize. It creates tons of intermediate structures that are supposed to be boiled away at runtime, for example.
