    My inspiration for making has been my own struggle with obesity. In fact, for most of the years I was building it, my weight was 300 pounds or more. For 2019, I decided that it was time to address my own weight issue.

    It drove me up a wall that my wife’s laptop always had a 12% charge. So I habitually charged it. One day I asked: “Why don’t you ever charge it?” Her: “When you charge it, I feel loved.” Now I like to charge it. Isn’t it something how the narrative can make such a difference?

    Exactly: Cynicism (all people are corrupt) leads directly to nihilism. The solution is to vote. The antidote to cynicism is to hold on to your principles and remember that there are people who have them.

    It leads to nihilism! Which, if you think about it, is ridiculous. Yes, we are the country that voted for Trump. We also voted for Obama - twice. People just need to vote. The only thing we need to fear... is apathy

    I dreaded some tasks as an employee so much. The desire to escape them was a major propellant to build my own business. Turns out those dreaded tasks don’t go away. So now, when they come up, it’s a neat little opportunity to try to puzzle out how to be disgruntled with myself.

    If you’re considering working on an idea, and you discuss it with friends, never use their enthusiasm as a barometer for how good the idea is. It’s way too hard for friends to visualize something that only lives in your head. At the very least, make screenshots or a prototype.

    Update for RevenueCat customers: We've just deployed a fix that will grant entitlement to customers temporarily regardless of the validateReceipt response. This will fix the issue for any current users trying to purchase for the time being.

    Strongly considering adding a mechanism to my app that can detect server failures and give users a temporary 24-hour feature unlock. It irks me that users who have just decided to place their confidence in my product with their hard-earned money are blocked by technical issues.

    Good news and bad news. Good news: The App Store purchase process is also down, new purchases can't be made, so users aren't getting charged for nothing. Bad news: Nobody is making money.

    🚨🚨🚨 The App Store verifyReceipt endpoint has been completely down since 6:22 AM PST. We started to see degraded performance at 4AM and it completely went down 2 hours later. We're actively investigating the specifics and will continue to update this thread. 🚨🚨🚨

    It shouldn’t be over the top. It just has to be honest. I remember dozens of small exchanges from my early days where friends expressed a little bit more interest than I was used to. Just one more follow up question, for example. A little bit goes a long way.

    Promoting artists who are already highly regarded is nice, but it’s low-impact. It’s easy and “safe” to share opinions that everyone agrees with. When you amplify an artist who’s just getting started? Or offer encouragement and support? That‘s the force that moves the world.
