Even the big season finale wasn’t all that thrilling. The team stumbles upon a super weapon and Anubis is defeated. Three seasons have been spend hyping him up as this supreme evil with access to untold knowledge, and he dies just like every other System Lord.

The most impactful part of the season, and by far the saddest point in the show, is Doctor Fraiser dying. Those two episodes are easily the best of the season, even if it meant losing one of my favorite characters.

Season 4 was Showtime's last, went to Syfy afterwards and presumably lost a bit of budget. There's a distinctly different feel to it from season 5 onwards & the need to promote the spinoff was tangible. BUT, hey, Syfy's stewardship DID produce Atlantis.

I loved most of season 7. Season 8 was brilliant with O'Neill in charge though.

I’m very excited to re-watch Season 8. Human-form replicators, Baal, and O’Neill. Yes please.
