Apple said they wouldn't put an exploit in because NSA would lose track of it
But Microsoft didn't put in the exploit for WC.
No. Issue is "if there's an exploit you can use, you'll lose it"
I feel like the important thing here isn't that Apple "stood up" to anyone, it's that safety in software is never a guarantee.
That is a very important thing. But there is a difference between accidental exploit and putting one in for the government.
As an internet meme, Tim Cook being smug that he was right to not add more exploits is a pretty good one. Not great business tactic though
And certainly more important things to discuss. I just wanted to voice that as a smug meme those two things do seem to go together
