The number of tech bloggers unable to problem solve their way out of "the CMS ate my work so I shouldn't ever write in the CMS" is amazing.

why write elsewhere? Write in the CMS and use something to automatically backup your work as you write.

I think for me it was more about writing in a separate tool gave me a better mind for proofing, but also saving
