My younger son was issued a Chromebook in high school. As soon as he realized he could just use Google Classroom from his own computer, he put it away and never touched it until he graduated, except when they did audits.

I see lots of students with Chromebooks at the university where I work. They're perfect for taking notes, checking email, etc. No hassle, long battery life.
